Time for Outrage
Alteria Art and Art Barter are proud to present “Time for Outrage”, a series of screen-printed posters created by young talented artists, as a tribute to Stéphane Hessel and his eponymous book.
Stéphane Hessel, Resistance fighter and concentration camp survivor, tells the young of today that their lives and liberties are worth fighting for. Remembering the ideals for which he risked his life, while never forgetting the evils against which he struggled, the writer and diplomat calls on all of us to take back the rights that have slowly slipped away since the Second World War ended.
Presented for the first time as part of the legendary Art Car Boot Fair, these posters, produced by Alteria Art at Transcoda Studios are the work of a selected group of artists who have been chosen by the founders of Art Barter and Alteria Art for their unique creativity, their passion and their position as artists who are currently emerging into the highly competitive art world. In responding to the brief the artists have reflected on what creates indignation in their daily life and have offered their views on subjects ranging from the dying bees crisis to technological takeovers and websites dedicated to ranking the local prostitutes.
